India Muslims Throw Children From Rooftop

In my family we normally welcome our little ones into our family and community by means of a christening. The relatives show up, there’s a little water poured on the baby’s head and a good time is had by all.
Apparently in Solapur, India these folks have another way of welcoming the children into their community.
For more than 500 years, devotees at a Muslim shrine in the village have been observing one of most bizarre rituals worldwide. Their babies are thrown off a tall building approximately 50 feet high. The children are caught in a top bedsheet. The ritual is believed to make their children healthy and strong.
The locals claim none of the children have been hurt in the ritual.
There have been times I’d like to have thrown my children off a tall building. However they were normally teenagers at the time and in my opinion brain damaged which was accounting for their strange behavior. I couldn’t get them to co-operate with my plan as they had doubts that their dad would be willing to catch them.
